Inside Echo, Las Vegas’s New Retro-Chic Listening Lounge | Eater Vegas

"Built by Natalie Young after closing her long-running brunch spot to pursue a vinyl-centric concept, this Downtown Las Vegas lounge pairs a warm, retro-cool living-room vibe—wood slats, acoustic paneling, burnt-orange curtains, houseplants and salvaged chairs—with a serious analog sound system that foregrounds full-album listening. The main room features high-fidelity McIntosh gear and a neon-lit DJ booth, while a 12-seat, acoustically treated VIP listening room stocked with vintage McIntosh 75 tube amps and La Scala speakers offers an intimate, audiophile-caliber experience and future guided listening dinners. The concise, shareable food menu carries over favorites from the previous restaurant, including the beloved shrimp and grits, with other bites like crisp chips and dips, marinated chicken skewers, tempura mushrooms, and toasted focaccia; fan favorites such as thick-cut grilled cheese and deep-fried deviled eggs may return seasonally. Bar talent recruited from Downtown Cocktail Room runs an inclusive beverage program that emphasizes zero-proof takes on classics (including a nonalcoholic espresso martini and a sparkling citrus-and-ube mocktail) alongside inventive cocktails like the Glory Days (popcorn-washed bourbon, sherry, chocolate bitters) and the Little Red Rooster (tequila, vanilla sandalwood syrup, grapefruit soda). Vinyl-focused programming—jazz, funk, world music and rotating DJs—pairs with a small record display for browsing, and the overall effect is a low-lit, conversation-friendly place to begin or end the night for listeners who appreciate the ritual and attention of analog sound, often attracting a more 40-plus crowd." - Janna Karel
