"I learned that the slightly more upscale Santorini Estiatorio shuttered in September for refurbishing; its social media accounts were shut down and attempts to reach the owners were not returned. The restaurant that anchors the corner of Monroe Avenue and Beaubien Street was mostly gutted when I visited, and workers rebuilding the space told me the spot is indeed coming back as Santorini with a slightly different format and a whole new look.
