"After nearly a decade of touring North America chasing great beer, longtime craft-beer fans Alexandre Pontbriand and David Goudreau opened an 80-seater taproom in Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie that instantly felt community-driven: opening weekend (May 1–2) drew roughly 800 people, about a third of them local. They're operating as a takeout venue under COVID restrictions with four-packs to-go and limited weekend hours for now, but plan to expand hours and the space when safe — the indoor social area is about 1,000 sq ft and will be paired with a 50-seat outdoor terrasse. Inspired by industrial taprooms like Bellwoods and Other Half, they aim to brew two new beers per week plus a special beer of the month, with a core love of IPAs and a menu rich in lagers (watch for a pilsner and a coffee stout), while keeping the place grounded and welcoming so neighbours feel like it’s their “second living room.” Pontbriand brings experience from Montreal breweries Avant-Garde and Beauregard and Goudreau left marketing to co-open the brasserie; they emphasize community use for fundraisers and events, say their goal is to “live off of our passion and good vibes” rather than get rich, and the venue’s decor is described as that of a luxury Parisian brasserie with a café-bistro and terrace (the listing also notes the famed Sleeman Pub and hours up to 2 a.m.)." - Audrey Carleton
