SF Nepalese Restaurant Dancing Yak Expanding With Tapas in the Mission | Eater SF

"At 2400 Folsom Street I learned that Basnet will open Base Camp in the former Schmidt’s space as a Nepalese restaurant focused on small plates. The project is a partnership between Basnet and chef Tara Ghimire, with current Dancing Yak chefs Indra Khanal and Sunita Bohora developing the menu; Basnet notes the chefs come from different parts of Nepal and bring years of experience cooking native Nepali food. The menu will be a departure from Dancing Yak’s, emphasizing smaller shared plates (reflecting Basnet’s point that many Nepali people grew up eating tapas) and offering beer and wine only rather than cocktails, with a hoped opening by the end of October or early November." - Caleb Pershan
