"I'm excited that the San Francisco export Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is headed to Houston’s Heights at 1051 Heights Boulevard; permit applications with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and Texas Comptroller indicate it should open in the coming months. While no Houston-specific menu has been released, menus at other Ike’s locations show a bounty of sandwiches for carnivores and vegetarians alike — meaty options like the Friday the 13th (fried chicken, ranch, and mango habanero sauce) sit alongside vegan “turkey,” meatless meatballs, and veggie-packed sandwiches such as the Hermione, piled high with cucumber, lettuce, tomato, orange glaze, and provolone. Sauces feature heavily across the menu, ranging from cranberry sauce to wasabi mayo and red pesto.
