The Distillery of Modern Art in Chamblee, Georgia, Opens This Spring and Plans to Merge Producing Spirits With Modern Art | Eater Atlanta

"A new 15,000-square-foot craft distillery opening on Irvindale Way near the Chamblee MARTA station this spring produces vodka and gin with plans to add whiskey and a variety of liqueurs. Owned by Seth Watson and designed with Vickers Design Group to act as a “piece of art,” the facility features a tasting room and bar with seating for up to 55 people, a 50-seat patio, retail and exhibition spaces, and a private events area; the exterior is intended to change appearance from day to night. The owner plans to commission and display work by Atlanta artists on bottles and throughout the distillery to tie the spirits to the local arts community, and the products will be available both on-site and at retail shops around Atlanta. Recent changes to Georgia alcohol-delivery law, however, exclude beer and spirits producers from home delivery, a restriction that could constrain the distillery’s direct-to-consumer revenue stream." - Beth McKibben
