"Opening on Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp by mid‑August, this new restaurant and nightlife venue will showcase cuisine from Esteban Lluis, the Mexicali-born chef behind a Michelin-starred Baja restaurant. Lluis will have full creative control as executive chef, oversee the launch, and plan to be in the San Diego kitchen several times a week. His offerings at the more casual Kaluú are designed for sharing and will include banana leaf-wrapped tamales colados, suckling pig, and Sinaloan-style chicken with molcajete sauce.
