Now-Open Love City Brewing Is All About ‘Approachable’ Beer - Eater Philly
"Philly’s newest brewery and tasting room in Spring Arts in the Callowhill neighborhood opened to the public yesterday — April 19th, at 4 p.m. Owners and brewers Kevin and Melissa Walter founded Love City Brewing in 2016 and began construction on the space at 1023 Hamilton Street last year. The Spring Arts space was formerly used to make parts for the Reading Railroad. Love City may be newish to the block, but it’s got a pedigree: Kevin Walter previously logged time at Iron Hill Brewery. Love City opened the tasting room with seven brews; as per a release, the brewery’s founders believe beer should be “approachable.” Their signature beer is Love City Lager — made with ingredients sourced from the U.S. — and they also have a charitable side. The brewery’s Pathways Pilsner is brewed with members of Pathways to Housing PA, with some of the beer’s proceeds donated to the Pathways organization." - Alison Baitz
