"Tucked into Super 88 at 1 Brighton Ave., I visited Isshindo Ramen (tagline: “ramen with a soul”), which officially opened this week to fill the space left when beloved Pikaichi shuttered in November 2017. I found that Isshindo specializes in tonkotsu ramen but also offers miso- and tomato-based broths, and the menu includes dumplings, seaweed salad, takoyaki, fried chicken, and rice bowls; it doesn’t have a liquor license, so don’t expect to wash that salty broth down with a beer. The shop is set apart from Super 88’s main food court and is open for lunch and dinner daily." - Terrence Doyle
