"Inside the sprawling One Santa Fe mixed-use complex in the Arts District, I found Westbound, a train depot–themed cocktail bar and restaurant created by owner Sarah Meade that aimed to be a decadent throwback bar and snack spot harking back to the area's original function as a massive train depot. It featured Art Deco touches, stained-glass detail work, and rotating menus centered on classic cocktails and snacks; the bar was known for throwing lavish, well-attended holiday parties—particularly around Christmas—while for most of the year it was a mellow destination for a quiet drink and a bite to eat. After two years in operation, Westbound held last call over the weekend and is now closed up tight; in an Instagram post ownership said the closure “was a decision that was not made without considerable thought and contemplation,” and that “what will become of Westbound in the coming months is unknown.”" - Farley Elliott
