"Jeff Strauss had a career as a television producer and writer before pursuing the art of sandwich-making inside Highland Park’s Flask liquor store. People flock to the low-key operation for a taste of the pastrami Reuben. The hearty beast of a hot sandwich is piled high with smoky pastrami, melted Comte, sauerkraut, a house Russian dressing, and a perfect Gruyere crisp on a griddled seeded rye bread. If the weather is cooperative, take a seat at one of the cheery yellow tables stationed on Avenue 59.
