The 24-Hour Las Vegas Norms Diner Is Nearly Open | Eater Vegas

"An Atomic Age, Googie-style diner known for classic Los Angeles cool and more than 20 locations is making its first expansion outside California in its 75-year history. Opening in November in central Las Vegas at 4605 West Charleston Boulevard (in a remodeled Applebee’s near Decatur), the location recreates retro design elements—pennant-shaped marquees, a sloping roof and long glass windows—and will operate 24 hours. The all-day menu leans on hearty diner staples dating back to the chain’s 1949 origins: breakfasts such as country-fried steak and eggs, sausage-and-cheese omelets, and hotcakes with syrup and strawberries; lunch and dinner offerings like onion rings, tuna melts with American cheese, cheeseburgers and fries, New York steak and shrimp, and meatloaf with bacon and gravy. It will be the brand’s first Vegas spot with a full liquor license and planned on-site gaming, and its pop-culture presence (including appearances on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, American Horror Story, and Drag Me to Hell) suggests a retro boost to weekend brunches on the Strip." - Janna Karel
