"A Lake Oswego Thai restaurant became the subject of federal charges after its owner, Paul Jumroon (also known as Veraphon Phatanakitjumroom), was accused in court documents of threatening and inflicting harm on a person identified only as P.T. to force that person to provide labor and services; the filings also allege Jumroom and others conspired to procure E-2 visas by making false claims across seven applications and that he made false statements on a 2013 tax return. The owner faced charges of forced labor, visa fraud conspiracy and filing a false federal income tax return and was expected to take a plea; an update reports he pleaded guilty on February 14 and was ordered to pay $131,392 to the victims and $120,384 to the IRS." - Tim Forster
