"On North Avenue Beach, Castaways Bar & Grill is a massive concessions stand shaped like a steamship and long regarded as a seasonal staple and near-icon of summer; it’s leased by the Chicago Park District to Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants. Currently the venue remains temporarily closed for about $150,000 worth of renovations with no announced reopening date, though Anthony Stefani has said he’s hoping to move forward and bring a much-needed fresh new look.
