"I’m glad the friendly Thai restaurant that began as Soi 30th in North Park in 2017 has finally opened an Ocean Beach outpost, Soi OB, taking over a former Subway location on Cable Street after pandemic delays. Chef/owner Khwanta Osanai, who started cooking very young in Thailand, brings the popular Northern Thai specialties from the North Park menu — curries, salads, noodles and rice dishes — including her signature crispy pork belly paired with barbecued pork, egg, cucumber and a salty-sweet sauce, plus a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. The Ocean Beach menu adds mushroom larb, nam tok (waterfall beef salad) and Crying Tiger steak served with a spicy dipping sauce, and there’s a selection of grilled skewers such as chicken satay, marinated pork and baby octopus. Soi OB is open daily for takeout from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m." - Candice Woo
