"Fomu — best known for its vegan ice creams, frappes, and other sweet treats — opens Friday, March 22, at 140 Brookline Ave., across from the movie theater. The Fenway store joins others in Allston, Jamaica Plain, and the South End, and it’s located near the site of a previous long-term Fomu pop-up. Founded in 2012 by Deena Jalal, Fomu serves a selection of ice creams that are free of egg, dairy, and other animal-derived products. Most flavors start with a coconut base, but some use cashews, almonds, or fruit. There are both standard and seasonal flavors, including vanilla bean, salted caramel, and chocolate pudding. The Fenway cafe will sell ice cream along with smoothies, frappes, baked goods, ice cream cakes, and to-go ice cream pints." - Dana Hatic
