Pepperoni Rolls Are Replacing Bryan Voltaggio’s Upscale Menu at Civil Cigar Lounge | Eater DC

"After its former culinary partner, now-defunct Range, closed, Civil Cigar Lounge is bringing in gourmet pepperoni rolls from Petworth newcomer Pepperoni Chic as a short-term dining solution. Bryan Voltaggio designed Civil’s original menu, and over the years the adjoining lounge offered locally raised oysters, gourmet pizzas, and red wine–soaked rib-eyes; with Voltaggio no longer in the area and his recipes remaining his property, management says they are pursuing alternative dining options. Retail sales and events manager Juan Ulloa explains that none of the Voltaggio/Range recipes are expected to carry over, while co-founder Matt Krimm has begun introducing the meat-filled Pepperoni Chic rolls at the bar. CCL will carry one Shannon-made selection plus a rotating vegetarian option, is looking to partner with outside vendors for charcuterie service, and plans long term to bring all food service in-house and create a lounge-focused menu that lives up to its slogan: Drink.
