"I shouldn’t be surprised at the popularity of Nam Kitchen in the South Bay: the weeks-old spot serves a slightly more upscale set of classic pho and noodle dishes in an expansive, well-designed room with navy blue accents and is already packed on weekend evenings. Most diners order the beef pho, which can be served with rare filet mignon, whole beef ribs, or dac biet—a house specialty mixing various cuts including meatballs; prices are fair at around $16 for heaping bowls and extra noodles are free on request. The broth is middling in seasoning and spices, but the meat falls right off the bones and is great dipped into the blended hoisin-and-sriracha sauce that’s presented from elegant jars rather than plastic bottles. The only downside during prime hours is the flustered, apparently understaffed service; if Nam Kitchen can resolve that, it should become one of Gardena’s stronger new Vietnamese restaurants." - Eater Staff
