"More Than Just Ice Cream is closing at the end of this month after 43 years. Owners Rachelle Capistrano-Sorg and Dalton Castano announced on Facebook the last day for the restaurant at 1119 Locust Street will be September 27. Originally opened on Pine Street in 1975, it relocated to Locust in 1998. Starting out as a dessert shop, the eatery later added lunch, dinner, and brunch, serving American diner-style plates like omelets, burgers, turkey clubs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. It was also known as a neighborhood ice cream destination, with scoops, sundaes, and baked goods, including an oversized “mile high apple pie,” available a la mode." - Rachel Vigoda
