"I report that the Orenco Station New Seasons Market was the subject of complaints filed by UFCW Local 555 in July 2022 alleging that “coercive statements” were made during the lead-up to the union election, which workers voted 60–37 against union representation; Local 555 president Dan Clay says the ballot count was affected by unfair labor practices and that the company threatened and lied to workers. An NLRB hearing on these allegations is scheduled for April 18, and if the board finds for Local 555 it could lead to another election at the store. New Seasons disputes the allegations, noting that 90 percent of eligible Orenco Station staff participated and overwhelmingly voted against union representation, and the company says it will demonstrate at the hearing that it acted lawfully." - Janey Wong
