"Billed as an old-school spot inspired by Corner Bistro and McSorley’s Old Ale House, Red Hook Tavern at 329 Van Brunt St., at Sullivan Street has shifted to a more general tavern menu: it will still offer fried chicken and a Peter Luger–inspired 45-day dry-aged burger, but will also serve dishes like chicken liver pâté with pickled cherries and rye toast, game charcuterie, and steak au poivre, along with about 170 mostly natural wines, classic cocktails, and a McSorley’s-style light and dark ale in a throwback, wood-filled space." - Stefanie Tuder
