Austin Restaurant Paperboy Opens Pizza Restaurant Loudmouth | Eater Austin

"Opening Wednesday, November 6 at 1209 Rosewood Avenue in Central East Austin, this casual, kid-friendly, table-service pizzeria from the team behind Paperboy focuses on Italian American–ish dishes and wood-fired pizza. The menu includes traditional pies like margherita and pepperoni alongside house creations such as the Joe’s Pie (fennel sausage, mushrooms, charred Castelvetrano olives, mozzarella, and green onions) and the Lone Star (barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, mozzarella, cheddar cheese, red onions, and cilantro). Elsewhere are sandwiches served on house-baked hoagie rolls with fillings like meatball subs, fried green tomatoes, and Italian cold-cuts; plates such as meatballs with focaccia, sweet pepper arancini, crispy potatoes, wood-roasted carrots, and chicken wings; salads; and desserts including tiramisu, skillet cookies, gelato, and popsicles. Beverage options feature tapped beers from Central Austin breweries including St. Elmo Brewing, Meanwhile Brewing, Vista Brewing, and Hold Out Brewing, plus wines, frozen drinks, and cocktails. Housed in the historic Haynes-Delashwah House (built in the 1890s), the revamp was done by Furman + Keil Architects and Campbell Landscape Architecture with interior design by Kempt; indoor dining rooms retain Victorian features such as stained-glass panels, pinewood floors, and beaded paneled walls, and a sprawling outdoor lawn offers beer-garden vibes with picnic tables, a shaded patio, and a children’s play area. The address previously housed higher-end New Texan restaurant Rosewood (2018–end of 2022) and, before that, East End Wines. The restaurant is part of Daybreak Hospitality (which oversees Paperboy and San Antonio’s Full Goods Diner); executive chef Patrick Jackson drew inspiration from his grandfather Joe, and chef de cuisine Seth Helmly previously worked at Barley Swine. Paperboy founder Ryan Harms originally opened Paperboy as a food truck in 2015 and turned it into a brick-and-mortar later that year; Daybreak opened Full Goods Diner in San Antonio in 2022 and plans a second Paperboy on South Lamar sometime in 2025. Hours will be 5–10 p.m. Monday–Thursday; 5–11 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday." - Nadia Chaudhury
