"I'm intrigued by the new Elephant East, opening later this fall at 2850 N. Harwood Street in the Harwood District. Set in an ornately-designed dining room, it will offer a sweeping Pan-Asian menu of playful dishes inspired by chef Thomas Griffin's culinary heritage—Griffin previously ran Banyan Bar in Boston and helped open Harwood’s Dolce Riviera in 2016. Diners can expect shareable bites like pork baos, Singapore-style noodles with house-cured ham, and sesame-fried mochi doughnuts, plus a drinks program featuring soju cocktails and Asian twists on classics such as a matcha mojito and a mai tai. Marketed as an “adventurous, and lively escape from the ordinary,” Elephant East will join Magnolias Sous Le Pont, Happiest Hour, Mercat Bistro and other eateries in the quickly growing walkable district, and will be open for dinner and drinks seven days a week when it debuts." - Brittanie Shey
