"James Beard winner Gabriel Rucker’s downtown restaurant, Little Bird Bistro, is updating its menu and kitchen staff, with a new chef de cuisine, Xan Gilmartin, and new menus starting 11:30 a.m. tomorrow, January 8. The new menu at Little Bird feels similar to Canard: Americana takes on French bistro cooking. The menu includes dishes like fried chicken cobb salad with herbes de provence “ranch,” foie terrine with pineapple-rum compote, bone marrow with braised pig’s feet and Texas toast, and a cassoulet with black-eyed peas and a fried rabbit leg. A French dip sandwich is also highlighted, with brisket braised in French onion soup overnight. Lunch hours have been extended until 4:30 p.m., and a happy hour offers half-price wine bottles and inexpensive versions of classic dishes." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
