"Opening Tuesday, October 23 at 12th and Chestnut, the Shake Shack at 105 S. 12th Street will be the chain's fourth Philadelphia location (after 20th and Sansom, 32nd and Chestnut, and the Wells Fargo Center) and is part of a network of more than 180 locations. If you want a free Philly/Shake Shack T-shirt, be one of the first 100 people in line when the doors open at 11 a.m. Like other Shacks, this location will sell burgers, chicken sandwiches, griddled flat-top hot dogs, and crinkle-cut fries, plus frozen custard and custard-based shakes called concretes — look for house concretes such as the Pie Oh My (vanilla custard with a slice of Four & Twenty Blackbirds seasonal pie), the Liberty Shell (vanilla custard with a Termini Brothers Bakery cannoli shell and ricotta filling topped with strawberry puree), and the Shack Attack (chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, Mast Brothers Shake Shack dark chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles). Five percent of Pie Oh My sales will go to support LGBTQ youth through the local Attic Youth Center. To drink, local breweries Yards and Yuengling are represented, plus a Brooklyn Brewery collab, ShackMeister Ale, and there’s a red and a white wine option. The restaurant sits in a highly trafficked spot between the Gayborhood and 13th Street’s strip of popular restaurants — including Double Knot, Sampan, an upcoming steakhouse, and Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s Barbuzzo, Lolita, and Jamonera — and near the new East Market/Fashion District Philadelphia." - Rachel Vigoda
