New Portland Plant-Based Cafe Memento Mori Opens With Goth Aesthetics | Eater Portland

"Opened in Portland on Saturday, October 12, this macabre and mystical plant-based coffee shop embraces a dark, eclectic vibe informed by its name, a Latin phrase that translates to “remember you must die.” The cafe comes from husband-and-wife team Correna and Justin Hernandez, and the menu leans fully plant-based with oat milk–based drinks like the Werewolf mint mocha and the Wolfsbane with lavender and honey; the food menu continues the theme with the Cemetarium Salad served with vegan barbecue smoked “chicken” and various toasts offered as the Bread of the Dead. Make sure to try the house special, a blended Goth-a-Chino with flavors including mint cookie mocha and chocolate cookie chip.
