"A bi-level sports bar and restaurant in Wicker Park is going all out for the Tokyo Games with a massive pop-up called Fatpour Olympic Village running through Sunday, July 8 at 2005 W. Division Street; they even have the Games’ famed rings parked in front. I can attend an Opening Ceremonies event slated to begin at 5 p.m. Friday, and the pop-up features a special menu of internationally inspired pizzas (including the German-themed Fassbender: white sauce, sauerkraut, beer bratwurst, brown mustard, beer-braised onion, gouda), thematic cocktails, table competitions, DJs, giveaways, and encouraged Olympic-themed outfits. Tickets and table/booth packages are available online, running from $60 to $125, and owner Erik Baylis says he isn’t concerned about potential IP issues despite the Olympics’ reputation for fiercely defending their intellectual property." - Naomi Waxman
