"At Bow Market in Union Square I found Buenas to be a shop best known for its empanadas but deliberately unbound by traditional South American flavors — the founders say they don’t make your grandma’s empanadas but rather empanadas that are 'authentic to us' and are willing to push creative limits (even arguing that 'a big ol’ scoop of caviar' can belong on an empanada).
