"Sitting on the Detroit–Dearborn border, I stopped by the old-school Ford Drive-In Theatre on Friday to watch Barbie and for the people-watching; Barbies showed out in oversized fuchsia blazers with shoulder pads, powder pink corsets or halter tops, furry leg warmers, neon feather boas, and many patrons even packed carafes of sangria, red velvet cakes, and pink throw blankets. The scene felt family-friendly and business-as-usual at the concession hut—hot dogs, popcorn, and other snacks were on hand (sorry, no pink cotton candy)—and the venue’s untouched vintage vibes served as the idyllic backdrop to take in the film (and not a Ken in sight)." - Serena Maria Daniels
