"At the Pasadena Commons complex (146 S. Lake Avenue), I visited Uovo’s new fifth location, which opened Thursday, August 10; it features an 18-seat pasta bar plus indoor and outdoor seating and is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. All pasta is handmade daily in Bologna, Italy, overnighted to Los Angeles, and priced under $20—co-founder Carlo Massimini says Uovo is the only restaurant outside of Italy that handmakes its own fresh pasta in Italy and that it's just like the pasta he grew up eating. The menu includes Bolognese classics like green lasagna and tortellini in brodo, Roman dishes such as carbonara and cacio e pepe, and a trio of five-course set menus under $40 per person intended for parties of two." - Cathy Chaplin
