"Currently remodeling a former Atlas District dive bar at 1208 H Street NE, the forthcoming barbecue restaurant Smokin’ Pig is aiming to serve smoked ribs, brisket, and whiskey this summer. According to its Instagram page and social posts, the team is shooting for a mid-June opening and plans to offer smoked chicken, slow-smoked ribs, fried okra, red skin potato salad, baked beans, mac and cheese, lots of beer, and other barbecue staples. The Smokin’ Pig team is giving the former Wild Western–themed saloon a refresh; the space previously featured a largely wood-and-brick, worn-in look.
