Pop Pie Co. Pairs Up with Stella Jean’s Ice Cream in Point Loma | Eater San Diego

"I'm excited that Pop Pie Co., which runs flagship locations in University Heights and additional outposts in Costa Mesa, is headed to Point Loma and will open later this summer on Voltaire Street near the popular Italian restaurant Cesarina. The new location will share a roof with sister concept Stella Jean’s Ice Cream but keep its own counter and distinct branding in a Tecscape-designed space offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Co-owner Steven Torres runs Pop Pie’s coffee program with a rotating roster of micro-roasters and is developing his own high-end coffee line with plans for a roastery he hopes to have up and running by this fall. Torres and co-owner Gan Suebsarakham were able to ramp up takeout and delivery during the pandemic by renting a commissary kitchen in Clairemont, which should aid expansion, though Torres says they’re being cautious about not growing too fast." - Candice Woo
