"A promising new pizza restaurant is opening on Centre Street that will focus on Neapolitan-style pizzas; it will have a take-out window but the main attraction is an 80-seat dining room. It comes from the owners of tidy Old Montreal restaurant Barroco, chic French‑American Foiegwa in St‑Henri, and neighbour Atwater Cocktail Club, and JP Miron—an ex‑Au Pied de Cochon staffer also known for appearing on Top Chef Canada—will head the kitchen. The Gauley Brothers designed the space, which departs from their usual modern approach for a vintage vibe with velvety banquettes, checkered tablecloths, and kitschy wallpaper and light fixtures. Beyond the pizzas, there will be a few fresh pasta options and vegetable dishes, and the team is planning a speakeasy‑type bar on site (they already have a bar license). Fugazzi Pizza opens at 1886 Centre on Saturday, January 12 and will be open evenings; exact hours are to be confirmed." - Tim Forster
