"The aptly-named Backyard is the sister bar to Rookies, Columbia City’s sports viewing destination, with a more subdued vibe literally out back. Pups are allowed in the shady, secluded patio area — hand-built by the bar’s owner — away from the noisy street, where they can stretch their legs and get a drink of water. It’s also a great spot for humans to grab some brews and bar snacks (including brisket poutine and cheese curds fried in ale batter) when the weather’s warm." - Meg van Huygen
