The Team Behind Burma Superstar Is Opening a New Restaurant Called Teakwood in Hayes Valley | Eater SF

"Opening this spring on the corner of Grove and Gough streets, Teakwood is a new project from the team behind Burma Superstar and Burma Love; the Burma Food Group is working with Studio KDA Design to renovate the space. I'm told the menu will include the chain’s well-loved tea leaf salad alongside new dishes that highlight flavor influences from neighboring countries such as Thailand, China, and India, while nodding to Burmese culinary traditions and showcasing local ingredients. Teakwood will serve lunch and dinner and later offer a happy hour, and it will feature a full bar with cocktails that use smoke to complement the food and wine selections that include several volcanic varietals. The project comes from the Burma Food Group, which previously settled a 2016 class-action wage lawsuit that awarded workers $1.3 million." - Lauren Saria
