With the writing clearly on the wall, chef and restaurateur Vitaly Paley closed all of his restaurants on March 15, the day before Gov. Kate Brown gave the order to close dining rooms in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of pivoting to takeout and delivery like many other places, the chef kept his kitchens entirely closed, but on May 1 his pizzeria the Crown will be back in business, serving an updated menu with new items for curbside takeout and delivery." - Alex Frane
