"Taking over the long-vacant South Park space where Fire Horse Asian Bistro once stood, I was told Raj Mutti of Pacific Beach’s Spice Lounge will open Curryosity this fall. It aims to fill a local void for Asian cuisine by combining Spice House’s bestselling dishes — including curries and North Indian-style biriyani — with Indian-fusion appetizers such as curry mussels, spiced scallops, a bruschetta twist using naan bread, and an Indian-flavored quesadilla baked in a tandoor oven. The menu will include a large range of gluten-free dishes and vegan options like a masala curry made with tofu and coconut milk, and the bar will serve wine, beer, and soju-based cocktails. After a mostly cosmetic redo featuring a brighter palette of white, gold, and light pink and new decor including Indian lanterns and floor cushions, the eatery should open this fall." - Candice Woo
