"I note that Standard Bakery, a popular North Seattle bakery that started as a pop-up, recently celebrated one year in its small Pinehurst space and has launched a Kickstarter to raise $50,000 to support the development of a Jewish deli next door. The campaign—launched over the weekend—was intended to gauge whether the community will put down money in advance for the new venture; at the time of reporting it had raised $1,082 with 28 days remaining. Standard is positioning the fundraising with reward tiers that range from a $10 gift card for a coffee and pastry up to higher-value experiences like bread-baking classes and a deli party." - Adam H.
