"If chilaquiles is your love language, head to this stylish cocktail lounge in Montrose. Located off Westerheimer Road, Melrose recently launched its Sunday “Brunch to Sunset” service, featuring dishes by Tatemo chef and James Beard Award finalist Emmanuel Chavez. Diners will find a colorful menu of Houston favorites, such as oysters on the half shell; acai bowls presented in halved coconuts; hanger steak with eggs and a vibrant chimichurri sauce; brioche bun breakfast egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches laced with brown sugar-roasted Billionaire’s bacon; and charred tomatillo chilaquiles crowned with poached eggs. Looking for something a group can share? Order the Melrose Tower, which offers layers of lox, mini bagels, chive cream cheese, and other accoutrements. It wouldn’t be brunch without Melrose’s cocktail list, which includes mango habanero margaritas, a rose-elderflower gin and tonic, and herbaceous Detox martinis made with coriander-infused gin, elderflower, celery, pineapple, and basil. Brunch happens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but don’t be afraid to stay past sunset, when the lounge transitions to more of a party atmosphere." - Brittany Britto Garley
