"Similarly, Petrol Station became one of Houston’s earliest destinations for craft beer when it opened in 2005. The building, a former filling station, gave the bar its name, and hop-heads loved to gather in the massive oak tree-lined back yard. The bar closed in March due to the coronavirus in what many viewed as a huge loss for Houston’s beer community. Though Petrol served only beer and wine, alongside fat burgers, Reubens, and other pub food, the new bar will focus on creative cocktails and unfussy but high quality dishes." - Brittanie Shey
