"I visited the Whole Foods at Market and Dolores Streets and noticed the store has restructured its layout to accommodate more delivery orders, adding an aisle area where personal grocery shoppers assemble online orders and stock fridges with packed bags. Since Amazon purchased Whole Foods last summer for $13.7 billion, Prime Now from Whole Foods is being rolled out in the Bay Area: Amazon announced free two-hour delivery to some Bay Area zip codes for orders of $35 or more for Amazon Prime members, with service available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and an optional one-hour delivery for $7.99. Prime Now delivery from Whole Foods already operates in Dallas, Austin, Cincinnati, and Virginia Beach. Until now Whole Foods relied on Instacart for delivery in the Bay Area, and although Instacart will continue to work with Whole Foods, its dominance over the store’s aisles is now jeopardized by the new Prime Now option." - Caleb Pershan
