"I'm noting that the Atlanta-based breakfast and brunch chain Flying Biscuit Cafe will open a Toco Hills location next year in part of the former Petite Auberge French restaurant space in the Toco Hills shopping center; the new spot will join neighbors like Spiller Park Coffee and Chopt. I also want to call out a recent controversy: one of the owners of the cafe’s Midtown and Candler Park locations contributed $2,000 to gubernatorial nominee Brian Kemp, who supports the controversial “religious freedom” legislation, which drew scrutiny from the LGBTQ community — especially given that Flying Biscuit’s Midtown restaurant sits at the intersection of the rainbow crosswalk at 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue, considered the heart of Atlanta’s LGBTQ community." - Beth McKibben
