"An iconic Burbank restaurant space has reopened as Prime Pizza after a complete overhaul by new owners James Starr and Zak Fishman; the former 15-year-old Taste Chicago corner stand-alone building long owned by Joe Mantegna now sports quirky pizza graphics, a big red Prime Pizza sign, and lots of slices inside. I note Prime formally opened yesterday and is keeping daily hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (extended to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). The menu is the same as ever, with 18-inch round pies, 8-inch square pies, sandwiches, salads, and more, plus beer (mostly local craft names like Burbank’s Trustworthy Brewing Co.) and cans of wine, with a happy hour planned in the coming weeks. Because the location sits in a single-family-home neighborhood, they’re offering a $30 family deal (cheese pie, garlic knots, and a salad). The spot does dine-in (about 30 seats with TVs for sports), takeout, and will add curbside pickup and free local delivery in the works; the group also operates locations in Little Tokyo and on Fairfax and runs Golden State, Bludso’s, and Cofax." - Farley Elliott
