"A Jamie Oliver-owned steak restaurant in the One New Change building near St Paul’s is facing fresh uncertainty after landlord Land Securities began marketing the site ahead of a rent review in July, with reports of rival bids. Two months earlier the business underwent an internal takeover when the previous owner, Barby Limited, went into administration and was bought by One New Change Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group — a technical change of ownership that allowed the restaurant to remain open while roughly £6.7 million of debts were effectively written off. Because many of those creditors were smaller unpaid suppliers, prominent critic Jay Rayner publicly denounced the move as “outrageous” and challenged the group to ensure suppliers are paid. A restaurant spokesperson says the venue continues to trade well and the group is committed to working with the landlord for the long term; Land Securities did not immediately comment." - Adam Coghlan
