Pisco in Carlsbad Changing From Peruvian To Brunch | Eater San Diego

"I'm reporting that Toast Gastrobrunch, opening at the end of January in Carlsbad in the space that recently housed a branch of Pisco Rotisserie & Cevicheria (and had previously replaced an outlet of Sammy’s Wood Fired Pizza), will be a new daytime eatery run by executive chef/partner Alfred “Alfie” Szeprethy. The menu will focus on a variety of toasts alongside brunch plates such as smoked brisket hash, breakfast salads, and his signature Eggs in Purgatory — poached eggs in a spicy shashuska sauce with mushrooms, bacon, feta, scallions, and mint served in a sourdough bread bowl.
