"A California-based restaurant chain specializing in burgers that are half-beef and half-bacon is bringing its first Colorado location to RiNo next year. The business news website reports Slater’s 50/50 will open in a 5,200-square-foot space on the ground floor of the Hub, a new eight-floor office building. The restaurant will be owned by Charlie Murray, who left a career in investing to pursue opening franchise restaurants. Murray told BusinessDen he is hoping to open four to five more Slater’s 50/50 locations in Colorado over the next few years. In addition to burgers, Slater’s is known for its unique milkshakes, which are made with decadent toppings like lollipops, Twinkies and candy. The existing restaurants also serve sandwiches, wings, flatbreads, salads, and a pasta made with meatballs made from bacon and beef. Each restaurant also features a full-bar and is stocked only with local beer. Murray is targeting a May opening for the restaurant." - Paul Albani-Burgio
