"Opening late this May within a plant-filled, wood-lined, green-hued Pearl District venue at 1425A NW Flanders Street, Matta Cafe will focus on beans from the owners’ 59-acre Colombian farm in Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and serve drip, espresso, cold brew (Manuel’s recipe kept on tap), and pour-over. During the day the space will also offer coffee-forward cocktails — espresso martinis, coffee-whiskey drinks, and the Sierra Nevada, a coffee-twisted take on an Aperol Spritz — all made with Matta Cafe coffee, and its food will draw from co-owner Aura Matta’s family recipes alongside standbys supplied by the food cart El Pilón. The cafe is distinct from the similarly named Vietnamese pop-up and former cart mentioned in local circles." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
