"Opening in the CBD on Saturday (October 27) at 10 p.m., I would describe Vintage Rock Club — in the space that used to be the Rampart Room above Poydras Street — as a loose rock-themed but decidedly glam event space and weekend bar: it’s not grungy, featuring well-shined wooden dance floors, glistening white furniture with vintage touches, and plenty of purple lighting. It aspires to be a high-end club experience with five VIP lounges complete with table service and abundant gold accents, from a mirrored bar to gilded Rio Crocodillo wallpaper. A kitchen will open in the coming weeks offering wide-ranging options from caviar through to a fancy peanut butter and jelly sandwich (food will not be served on the opening weekend). Billed as a “multimedia experience,” the venue includes a 185-inch video wall and many large TVs that will lean into nostalgia with music videos and footage from historic rock concerts as it aims for the “ultimate ‘concert club’ feel.” It will be open to the public Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and available for events at other times." - Tim Forster
