"A new Shanghai street food restaurant has opened in the Clairemont neighborhood. Shanghai Alley serves lunch and operates out of a shared restaurant space with King Bistro, an all-you-can-eat Chinese skewer dining experience open for dinner. The fast-casual restaurant offers a variety of traditional options including noodle dishes like pickled cabbage and shredded pork soup, small wontons in seaweed soup, and big wontons in bone soup. The generously portioned wontons are made with ground pork and shepherd’s purse in a stewed pork bone broth brightened with cilantro and scallions. The range of add-ons includes tea eggs, pork chops, and braised chicken drumsticks. The menu also features classic dishes like sweet and sour pork ribs, hot pot spicy shrimp, Shanghai soup dumplings, and boiled pork dumplings with leek or cabbage." - Helen I. Hwang
