"Originally an indie artisanal pizzeria in Brixton market that earned cult status in the late 2000s for its sourdough bases, Somerset mozzarella and natural wines, the group — now owned by Fulham Shore — has grown to 45 restaurants across London, 28 elsewhere in the U.K. and one in Athens. It has launched a range of five “premium” chilled, cook-at-home pizzas in 500 supermarkets across the U.K., retailing at £5.75 and featuring toppings such as four cheese with a balsamic glaze; salami and chilli honey; fennel sausage and red pepper; and beef meatball with red onion and pecorino (about 25p more than the long-standing Pizza Express Sloppy Giuseppe). The range was developed in partnership with Italian manufacturer Rondanini and the group’s executive chef Alfonso Marseglia after many months of careful development, and the company says wider grocery distribution (with plans to add other retailers from late 2023) is intended to raise brand awareness, especially where it does not yet have a restaurant presence." - Adam Coghlan
